Chapter One Authors Notes
This chapter pretty much deals with what happens after Ianto wakes up. As you may notice there are pictures currently on this story. I had the foresight to want to do so with the pictures to show people what the characters looked like. However I have since gone and done text only after this chapter. A Few in Chapter Two but otherwise there are no more Pictures to be made for this story etc.
It's a pain in the ass and though I love you my readers, it's very time consuming and takes up a lot of space in my hard drive. As it was I have quite a bit of space already jammed full of things photos, videos etc. and am close to right now running out of room for it all.
So anyways yeah the pictures are going away for now until I change my mind on the subject.
So let's begin.. Ianto wakes up not knowing what is happening to him. He feels the essence of the Tardis inside him and a great feeling of depression. However as he opens his eyes he sees the Doctor and watching him.
The Doctor introduces himself as the Doctor does and tells him that he is alive, explains a few things but keeps elusive on others and is a bit confusing to Ianto on purpose. Why? Because that's the Doctors way of it.
Ianto remembers a convo between him and Jack. Pretty much it's about how he is Immortal and such. He had explained further about the reasons he was on Earth in the 21st century and Ianto had been angry but Jack told him if he hadn't they wouldn't have met and it appeased Ianto. The rest of the memory was Jack and he, Ianto making love and that is why he smiles as he does in his thoughts.
The coat is iconic with Jack. It's a symbol of Jack and what Ianto needs is Jack. Him putting on the coat and holding it close is as if he is using an security blanket etc. The smell of Jack and his 51st century pheromones are there and it makes Ianto feel safe. Jack always kept him safe and though Jack isn't there it is as if he is in Ianto's mind.
Ianto's need to be with Jack is not purely a sexual need but also a emotional one. He loves Jack and knows that Jack hurts. He can feel his pain through their bond they now share thanks to Jack's gift of a part of his soul/immortality.
Ianto wonders if Jack is going to be angry. Partly because he knows that Jack and his relationship was just starting to become more serious. They had been lovers for quite a while but not as partners in the way Ianto wanted. So Ianto is a little unsure about how Jack will react.
Also Jack had confided in him that Immortality sucked and he wanted to die once and for all and stay dead. Jack sees his immortality as a curse but it's more because he loses everyone he loves. Now he will have the love of his life with him forever... It's a big step and Ianto wonders if Jack is really ready for it.
Jack mourns his lover. After Ianto's death he realizes he loves him and the Welshman got into his heart. Jack had thought he had it pretty well guarded but he comes to realize he doesn't want to live without Ianto by his side. Jack realizes he lost his chance to tell Ianto how he feels and blames himself for his death. He makes a promise to fight for Ianto's memory and sake and that is why he goes into the battle with the 456 as he does.
What he is doing on Earth is not seen by Ianto but he will feel his lovers pain and know that Jack hurts. So Ianto hurts and so does Rose. But we will get into that in another chapter.
